Job Overview
MakerGhat is looking for a seasoned Fundraising Lead with a proven track record in managing a large portfolio of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) grants, foundations, and donor relationships.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, successfully securing and sustaining major funding sources. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent relationship management skills, and deep expertise in CSR fundraising, corporate partnerships, and donor cultivation.

This position is hybrid and will involve travel.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with MakerGhat’s growth goals.

• Focus on CSR partnerships, institutional donors, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and corporate sponsorships.

• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, conducting thorough market research

2. Donor & Partnership Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with donors, ensuring engagement and retention.

• Manage the full lifecycle of CSR grants, including reporting, renewals, and compliance.

• Represent MakerGhat at donor meetings, conferences, and industry events to expand our funding network.

3. Proposal development & Grant Management

• Lead the creation of high-quality grant proposals, donor reports, and fundraising pitches.

• Collaborate with program teams to ensure alignment between donor priorities and MakerGhat’s impact.

• Ensure timely reporting and accountability for all secured grants.

4. Entrepreneurial Execution & Ownership

• Work independently and proactively, taking full ownership of fundraising efforts in a lean, fast-paced environment.

• Drive fundraising initiatives directly, with support from the founders rather than relying on a large team.

• Be highly resourceful, leveraging external networks and partnerships to scale MakerGhat’s fundraising impact.

Qualifications

Must-Have :

• 5-10 years of experience in a senior fundraising role within a mature nonprofit organization.

• Proven success in securing large-scale CSR grants, corporate partnerships, and institutional funding.

• Strong relationship management and donor stewardship skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.

• Deep understanding of India’s nonprofit funding ecosystem, CSR compliance, and donor engagement strategies.

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive fundraising programs with minimal oversight.

Preferred :

• Experience in a lean, fast-moving nonprofit or startup environment.

• Familiarity with fundraising tools, donor databases, and impact measurement frameworks.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management). A Master’s degree is a plus.
