Training & Makerspace Manager – STEM & Innovation (2+ Years Experience)

Job Overview
MakerGhat is looking for a dynamic and versatile Training & Makerspace Manager to lead the setup of cutting-edge makerspaces and deliver engaging STEM and maker-based training programs across India. The role is a blend of technical implementation and educational facilitation—ideal for someone passionate about building hands-on learning spaces and enabling 21st-century skills in diverse communities.

This person will travel to new geographies, set up makerspaces from scratch, work with local vendors, and facilitate high-quality workshops for students, teachers, youth, and public officials. The role demands a combination of creativity, logistical excellence, and a love for innovation.

CTC:  INR 5 to 6 L (based on experience and quality of work)

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Training & Facilitation

  • Conduct hands-on STEM and maker-based training sessions for school students (Grades 1–12), youth, teachers, and community leaders.

  • Facilitate workshops on innovation, design thinking, robotics, AI, and 21st-century skills.

  • Lead Train-the-Trainer (ToT) programs and provide ongoing support to educators and mentors.

2. Makerspace Setup & Management

  • Lead the end-to-end setup of makerspaces in schools, communities, and government facilities—including layout, equipment installation, and safety compliance.

  • Identify and coordinate with local vendors for tools, materials, and furniture procurement.

  • Set up technical tools, including 3D printers, soldering stations, electronics kits, IoT kits, and power tools.

3. Resource & Content Development

  • Design facilitator guides, training toolkits, visual materials, and presentations.

  • Work with the curriculum team to align space setup and training content with learning goals.

  • Document all processes for knowledge transfer and replication.

4. Innovation & Research

  • Research modern makerspaces and emerging tech globally to recommend new tools and layout ideas.

  • Develop scalable models such as mobile, modular, or low-cost makerspaces for diverse contexts

5. Monitoring & Feedback

  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and participants to improve training quality and space usability.

  • Maintain inventories, oversee equipment upkeep, and report progress through documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in education, training, facilitation, or infrastructure setup—preferably in STEM or maker environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Science, Design, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in facilitating learning for school children, teachers, and adults.

  • Comfort with handling technical tools like 3D printers, microcontrollers, robotics kits, and basic woodworking equipment.

  • Ability to travel 10–15 days a month across India.

  • Strong communication skills in English and at least one regional language (Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, or Kannada preferred).

  • Proficiency in tools like Google Slides, Canva, PowerPoint, and basic CAD/design software.

  • Passion for grassroots innovation, inclusive learning, and creative problem-solving.
