Finance & HR Compliance Manager
Location: Remote
MakerGhat is seeking a Finance & HR Compliance Manager with a proven track record of effectively managing organizational finances and human resources.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels at handling recruitment, accounting, and legal compliance, and who thrives in an environment of problem-solving and getting things done. The selected candidate will be a key player in ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of the organization.
The role will be remote, but will require occasional travel (20% of your time may be spent on travel)
Reports to: Director, MakerGhat
CTC: INR 8 to 10 L (based on experience and quality of work)
Responsibilities and Duties
Accounting & Financial Management:
Oversee daily accounting activities and ensure accurate financial records.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoices, and expense tracking.
Prepare monthly financial reports, maintain cash flow statements, and perform reconciliation.
Manage GST filings, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
Coordinate with Chartered Accountants (CAs) for audits, financial statements, and taxation matters.
Ensure all financial transactions comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Human Resource Management:
Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
Handle employee records, payroll management, and benefits administration.
Support the organization in employee engagement initiatives and performance management processes.
Facilitate training and development programs for team growth.
Address HR issues, mediate disputes, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
Compliance & Legal Management:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and central laws and regulations.
Oversee organizational policies and ensure adherence to best practices.
Manage legal documentation and facilitate interaction with legal advisors when required.
Operational Support:
Assist in developing and implementing operational processes and procedures.
Support administrative activities such as office management and vendor coordination.
Strategic Support:
Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team based on financial and HR metrics.
Assist with strategic planning and budgeting processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Human Resources, or related fields (MBA in Finance/HR would be a plus).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Accounts and HR roles, preferably in the non-profit sector
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial compliance, and GST regulations.
Proven experience in handling recruitment, payroll, and employee management.
Familiarity with legal requirements and compliance management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) and HR management systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
